TIM LEITCH, CBV Managing Partner

Tim has over 33 years of experience in the areas of operations management, business valuation and venture capital portfolio management. He has served as a senior officer, member of a senior management team, and as a director or an advisor to the directors and senior management of private companies establishing or repositioning themselves in the marketplace, seeking financing, or preparing for a potential merger or acquisition.

For the past 10 years, Tim has worked with companies in the forestry, renewable energy and sustainability sectors. The client base includes a sawmill, a pulp mill’s woodlands division, companies engaged in 1st and 2nd generation biofuel production, technology providers to the biofuel and distillery sector, waste repurposing, site remediation, agri-food and agri-tourism. He has also worked with a good number of small and medium sized business, including franchisee owned retail operations. During this period, Tim secured debt and private equity financings for a number of corporations and has secured significant financial support for companies from both the federal and provincial levels of government, and positioned companies for sale.

In his most recent position as interim president and CFO, he actively participated in obtaining the company’s financing and was responsible for cash flow management for the refurbishment and re-start of the sawmill’s operation. Tim’s cash flow management skills were put to the test on this start-up assignment. He also selected the financial reporting and inventory control system for the facility and oversaw its installation and the software provider’s training of the accounting and purchasing staff.

Tim has been a Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) since 1992, holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from York University (1985) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry (1981) from the University of Toronto.
